Gallery - Colors to Behold

Ruffwood is a color wheel of natural hues - 24/7 and all year long.

Colors to behold.

Something happens here that is easier to photograph than explain. The slight rise in the vista, the open sight lines, the absence of competing light — they conspire to produce sunrises and sunsets of a particular intensity that regular visitors stop trying to describe and simply start planning around. Not an accident. An unexpected, consistent gift that arrives every day whether anyone is watching or not.

With four distinct seasons, Georgia light has opinions and delivers them differently at every hour every day of the year. The flowers respond to all of it — wildflowers in certain pastures, unwanted but beautiful thistle clustered in other pastures, the cultivated native beds in bloom. A fall canopy color that arrives without announcement, the particular green of a Georgia spring that really represents 100 shades of green. Something is always coming into color.
